Job summary

Pond & Company is seeking an experienced Scientist Lead to join the Environmental group in Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL, and Tampa, FL. A BS/BA in an environmental discipline is required (MS preferred) with 6–10 years of experience. The role includes field leadership, QA/QC, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams across markets.

The candidate will manage junior staff, support proposals, and interface with clients. Occasional travel and strong technical writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Mid-senior level experience as environmental consultant or regulator.
• BS/BA in environmental science, ecology, biology, or related field; MS preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of wetlands, ecosystems of the southeastern US, and impact analysis.
• Proficient with GIS and GPS mapping software.
• Ability to travel and conduct field work in challenging conditions.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Task Manager and field lead for environmental studies.
• Lead field tasks including delineation, sampling, inspection, and data analysis.
• Prepare permits, GIS mapping, and technical reports.
• QA/QC of work and mentoring junior staff.
• Support proposal development and client interfacing.
