Job summary

CRH Americas Building Products is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to support ABP environmental compliance and lead EHS initiatives. This role partners with operations, ensuring air, water and waste permits, reporting, and audits meet regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement and align with CRH policies and the national platform. The position requires a Bachelor's in EHS/Science/Engineering, 3+ years in EHS, strong communication, project-management

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Science or Engineering related fields or relevant experience.
3+ Years in EHS and/or Manufacturing with EHS responsibility.

Responsibilities

Obtain and assist with maintenance of all environmental permits required for company plants, sites, and projects especially with regard to air permitting during Capital Projects and Mergers.
Prepare and submit all facilities required reports for USEPA and applicable state agencies in conjunction with professional service partners including, but not limited to, Annual Emission Inventory, emissions source testing, greenhouse gas reports, air and water permit modifications and renewals and other agency notifications.
Assist in ensuring all compliance or monitoring tests are conducted in accordance with timeframes outlined in environmental operation permits.
Assist in maintaining documentation compliance activities such as inspections, audits, complaints, and investigations verifying information is updated in EMS.
Report all violations of environmental permits, rules, and regulations to company management personnel and, when required by operational permits, to duly authorized regulatory agencies.
Coordinate, conduct, and teach compliance reviews, inspections, and internal assessments to ensure adherence to all applicable environmental permits, rules, and regulations.
Keep informed regarding changes to environmental legislation, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact these changes will have on company operations.
Work with sites and projects to review required documents to ensure ongoing compliance and ensure it is in EMA.
Develop and update environmental-related requirements and procedures with IPG and CRH.
Ensure all compliance and annual reports are completed and documented in EMS Inform internal field employees, managers, and outside contractors of company environmental policy, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Develop and implement environmental compliance plans for programs such as air quality, stormwater discharges, oil spill prevention or control, recycling, managing hazardous materials, employee education, and so on
Track key compliance metrics and implement systems to improve performance
Facilitate improvements to and help maintain site EMS with other analysts
