Job summary

Tysam Tech, LLC is seeking an environmental engineer to support projects in the U.S. Virgin Islands, based in St. Croix or St. Thomas. You will collect field samples, oversee drilling and well installation, and prepare calculations behind our designs.

Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates; travel is estimated at 25%. Compensation ranges from $85k to $105k annually with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering or related engineering degree.
• 1–4 years of experience in environmental field; environmental consulting preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites (soil, air, water, groundwater, landfill gas).
• Oversee drilling activities and well installation, development, and sampling.
• Perform QA observations to ensure conformance with design documents.
• Review reports and calculations prior to submission.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Collaborate with CAD drafters or use AutoCAD for basic designs.

Job description

Support engineering, design, permitting, and remediation projects for public and private clients across the U.S. Virgin Islands. You'll collect field samples, oversee drilling and well installation, run construction QA, and prepare the calculations and submittals behind our designs.

Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

Location:

This position is based in St. Croix or St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Candidates interested in relocating to the USVI are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and landfill gas.
• Oversee drilling activities, including monitoring and well installation, well development, and sampling.
• Conduct construction quality assurance observations, ensuring compliance with construction documents.
• Complete quality control reviews on reports, design plans, design calculations, data, prior to submission.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Coordinate with CAD drafters for design plans/figures or use AutoCAD for basic design plans/ figures.
• Prepare permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation.
• Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering or similar engineering degree
• 1-4 years of experience working in the environmental field. Experience in environmental consulting is preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred
• Valid driver's License with a driving record in good standing required.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.

• $85-$105K: Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills.
