Job summary

3M in Decatur, Alabama, is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead environmental compliance for a multi-site operation. You will collaborate with site engineers and leaders to ensure adherence to local, state, federal and corporate standards.

You will drive data collection, reporting, training, and the implementation of management systems to improve environmental performance. On-call support for emergency response events is required.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance program, including data collection, recordkeeping, testing and reporting for chemical and film manufacturing.
• Lead projects to ensure environmental compliance for the site, comprising a chemical plant, film manufacturing plant and WWT operations.
• Implement management systems, programs and processes to ensure durable compliance with local, state, federal and company standards. Develop and implement training programs to support compliance.
• Determine opportunities for environmental program improvements and develop strategic plans for improvement. Work with appropriate stakeholders to implement changes and track to completion.
• Support site by collaborating with engineers and leaders to ensure compliance requirements are incorporated into, and followed by operations, maintenance, and contractors.
• Support corporate initiatives to create, improve or implement programs driving environmental performance.
• Be on call for live support of emergency response events
