Job summary

LiRo-Hill in Buffalo or Rochester, NY seeks a Senior Environmental Engineer / Geologist to lead environmental site investigations, remediation design, and regulatory coordination. The role encompasses planning, client liaison, and project delivery across public and private sectors.

You will mentor junior staff, contribute to growth of the environmental business, and collaborate within a 1100-person firm with a broad service mix.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Science.
• 10+ years’ experience in Environmental Engineering / Environmental Consulting.
• NY PE or PG preferred.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and scientists.
• Understanding and application of environmental regulations and hazardous materials handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental engineering analysis and design tasks including site investigations and remediation.
• Coordinate and present planning & design submissions with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Perform and manage site investigations to observe and document existing conditions.
• Supervise development of project plans, calculations, specifications, and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Prepare bid packages, design drawings and technical specifications.
• Provide responses to technical and contractual issues during projects.
• Utilize diverse technical and project management skills on projects from small restorations to large construction.
• Engage with clients to expand services and pursue growth in the environmental business in the region.
• Assist in preparing proposals for environmental consulting services.
• Attend industry and business development functions as a firm representative.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of environmental engineering analysis and design tasks related to planning, environmental site investigation (subsurface and hazardous materials), remediation design, and remedial operations
• Coordination and presentation of planning & design submissions with clients and environmental regulatory agencies
• Perform and manage site investigations to observe and document existing conditions
• Supervise the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications, and coordinate with other disciplines as required to deliver quality engineering services
• Complete andreview planning documents and design calculations; assist in the preparation of bid packages, design drawings and technical specifications
• Provide responses and solutions to technical and contractual issues during projects
• Utilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills onprojects that range from small site restorations to large scale new construction
• Engage with existing clients to expand our services and pursue new clients to support growth of the environmental business in the region
• Assist in the preparation of proposals for environmental consulting services
• Attend industry and business development functions as a representative of the firm
• Mentor and develop junior engineering staff

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Science
• 10+ years’ experience in Environmental Engineering/Environmental Consulting
• NY PE or PG Preferred
• Ability to provide guidance to junior level engineers and scientists
• Understanding and application of environmental regulations, hazardous materials handling and disposal requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines

• Compensation: Min: $100k - Max: $140k The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on the individual candidate's qualifications and location.
