Job summary

The LiRo Group in Buffalo, NY seeks a Sr. Associate/Western NY Lead Civil Engineer to oversee site layout, civil design, and planning across projects. Lead coordination with municipalities, utilities, environmental agencies, and planning boards to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• 12+ years of progressive site and civil engineering experience.
• New York Professional Engineer (NY PE) license required.
• Experience with NYS DOT/DPW/highway departments and large local municipalities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering analysis and design tasks including roadway design, site planning, stormwater management, utility layout, and grading design.
• Coordinate submissions with municipalities, utilities, environmental agencies, and planning boards.
• Perform site investigations to document existing conditions and develop drawings, specs, and bid packages.
• Supervise project plans and calculations, coordinating with other disciplines to deliver high-quality engineering services.
• Provide solutions during construction administration and respond to issues as they arise.

The Sr. Associate will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects involving, site layout, civil engineering design and planning, ensuring their successful completion while adhering to quality standards, safety protocols, and project time-lines.

Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. Responsibilities

• Ability to lead a wide range of civil engineering analysis and design tasks related to: roadway design, zoning analysis, site plan preparation, site storm-watermanagement, utility planning and layout, transportation planning/design, parking analysis and layout, vehicle maneuvering analysis, pavement and grading design, and site utility replacement.
• Lead coordination and presentation of submissions with local municipalities, utilities, environmental agencies, and town/county planning boards.
• Perform site investigations to observe and document existing conditions.
• Complete andreview design calculations; assist in the preparation of drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• Supervise the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services.
• Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects.
• Utilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills onprojects that range from small site restorations to large scale new construction.
• Pro-actively engage with existing clients and pursue new clients to support growth of the business in the region across LiRo’s service lines.
• Lead the preparation of technical content for proposals for civil engineering services.
• Attend industry and business development functions as a representative of the firm.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop local engineering staff.
• Perform monthly and quarterly updates of project financials and revenue projections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 12+ years of progressive experience in Site and Civil Engineering
• NY PE required
• Experience in working with various NYS county DOT/DPW/Highway Departments, NYSDOT, and/or other large, local municipalities.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to provide constructive guidance to engineers and drafters
• Understanding and application of local code and permitting requirements
• Ability to collaborate with the Regional Manager and other business units for pursuit of business opportunities and growth of the practice
• Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines
• AutoCAD; Civil 3D or Microstation experience a plus

• Compensation: Minimum: $135,000; Maximum: $175,000. The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay. Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidate’s qualifications and location.
