Martin Marietta is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to guide environmental compliance, permitting, and sustainability across mining, aggregates, asphalt, and building materials production. You will act as the primary liaison with regulators, ensuring sites operate within the law while minimizing environmental impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field related to environmental engineering is required.
• Minimum 5+ years in Environmental Compliance within aggregates/mining/heavy construction preferred.
• Experience with air quality, water, and permit compliance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Administer the full lifecycle of environmental permits (Air Quality, NPDES, Water Rights, US Army Corps, Wetlands, Endangered Species).
• Lead SWPPP and SPCC plan development and implementation.
• Submit DMRs and annual emissions inventories on time.
• Represent the company with regulators and at public hearings.
• Conduct site inspections and perform recordkeeping reviews for risk identification.
• Advise Plant Managers on water discharge, oil storage, and waste management best practices.
• Serve as technical lead for environmental incident reporting and root-cause analysis.
• Assist in Phase I/II investigations during acquisitions/divestitures and oversee remediation contractors.
• Coordinate reclamation activities with land management to meet permit and sustainability goals.
• Develop and deliver environmental training programs for site personnel.
