What's the Opportunity?


Anchor QEA is seeking a senior environmental design engineer dedicated to solving our clients' most challenging problems in sediment remediation. This role demands significant interaction with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and excels in both technical expertise and project management. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a willingness to mentor junior staff are essential. Projects will primarily be in Wisconsin and throughout the Great Lakes region, with opportunities to engage in assignments nationwide.



What you'll do:



  • Lead complex sediment remediation projects, managing planning, execution, team coordination, budget tracking, client relationships, and stakeholder communications.

  • Foster a safe and quality driven culture, both project and companywide

  • Develop clear, constructible remedy designs with robust technical support to minimize contractor change orders.

  • Conduct remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Perform engineering analyses and evaluations for diverse multidisciplinary projects, including primarily sediment remediation, but also fish passage, waterfront development, and restoration.

  • Clearly document technical information in reports and deliverables.

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of environmental and engineering data

  • Develop the next generation of engineers in engineering principles and design practices


What Are We Looking For?


Ideal candidates will have the following:



  • BS or MS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience, including the planning and implementation of sampling, data analysis, feasibility studies, and remedial design.

  • Experience working with regulatory agencies (USEPA, USACE, State agencies).

  • Strong understanding of the application of engineering principles, including cost estimating, plans and specifications, bid packages, dredge plans, and field oversight of construction.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or ability obtain within one year

  • Proficiency in MS Office.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.



Preferred Qualifications



  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (CFR 1910.120)

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience

  • Familiarity CERCLA, NR 700, and the Great Lakes Legacy Act

Compensation:



  • Annual Bonus

  • Other potential bonus types: Billable Time Bonus, Spot Bonus, Milestone Anniversary Bonus, Receiving Professional License/Certification Bonus, Peer-reviewed Publication Bonus, Employee Referral Bonus.



Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
