Job summary
Leidos is seeking a Senior Environmental Chemist to lead data validation and management for federal environmental remediation projects. The role emphasizes accuracy of inorganic and organic analytical data, QA/QC oversight, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Remote, office-based position with engagement across project teams, laboratories, and data systems. Requires 10+ years in environmental chemistry and strong leadership in data review and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 10+ years in environmental chemistry.
- Experience validating analytical data for environmental investigations/remediation.
- Experience with PFAS and emerging contaminants.
- Oversight of junior/mid-level chemists in data validation.
- Knowledge of EPA SW-846 methods and CLP requirements.
- Ability to evaluate QA/QC results for data usability.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency with Excel and Word.
Responsibilities
- Validate inorganic and organic analytical data packages and perform independent reviews.
- Evaluate laboratory deliverables for completeness and QA/QC.
- Oversee Stage 2 data validation performed by junior chemists.
- Prepare QA/QC reports, data usability assessments, and narratives.
- Develop and implement UFP-QAPPs and related QA documentation.
- Assist environmental field sampling and data management activities.
- Manage environmental samples and data across project lifecycles.
