Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer (Level 5) to lead cost estimating for complex environmental remediation and civil projects in the United States. You will guide detailed estimates through planning, feasibility, design, and construction, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires a strong background in CERCLA/RCRA processes, MCACES MII proficiency, and excellent communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, PE license preferred.
• 7 years of related experience required.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.
• Familiarity with CERCLA and RCRA remediation processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation and civil projects.
• Develop estimates during feasibility studies and design phases.
• Prepare estimates to support project authorization, budgeting and bid evaluations.
• Utilize MCACES/MII and Excel-based models to generate defensible estimates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design into cost models.
• Support value engineering and risk-based cost estimating.
• Provide cost risk analysis, assumptions documentation, and estimate validation.
