Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer (Level 5) with a strong emphasis on cost estimating to support environmental remediation and civil projects. This role leads the development of detailed cost estimates across planning, design, and construction phases.

Proficiency with MCACES MII or equivalent tools and Excel models is required. You will collaborate across disciplines, perform value engineering, document assumptions, and support bid evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline; PE license; 7+ years of experience.
• Experience with cost estimating for planning, design and construction phases.
• Knowledge of environmental remediation processes and site methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation and civil infrastructure projects.
• Develop estimates during feasibility studies and design phases, including lifecycle cost evaluations.
• Prepare estimates to support project authorization, budgeting and bid evaluations.
• Utilize MCACES MII and advanced Excel models to generate defensible estimates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and integrate design elements into cost models.
• Participate in value engineering to optimize project delivery.
• Provide cost risk analysis, assumptions documentation, and estimate validation.
