Job summary

Civicworks, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, seeks an advanced-level professional to manage complex permit processes in the Southeast District, based in West Palm Beach.

Responsibilities include reviewing issuance decisions, providing technical assistance across air, waste, and water programs, and coordinating enforcement with internal teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental sciences principles and analytical techniques
• Ability to collect, evaluate, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical data
• Knowledge of environmental rules, regulations, and Florida Statutes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform field inspections including climbing, walking on slopes, and lifting up to 40 pounds
• Proficiency with PCs, spreadsheets, and industry database applications

Responsibilities

• Process complex permit applications and make issuance decisions
• Conduct compliance inspections and coordinate enforcement for highly regulated facilities
• Provide technical assistance across air, waste, and water programs
• Deliver compliance assistance outreach and internal staff training
• Coordinate enforcement actions and work with Southeast District in West Palm Beach
