Job summary

ATCS seeks an Environment Compliance Lead in Virginia to ensure construction project environmental compliance in the field and office. The role involves NEPA support, wetlands/streams assessment, and coordination of studies for threatened species, with broad duties across ATCS’ geographies.

The ideal candidate will have a biology or environmental science background, 6–8 years of related experience, and strong writing/communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science or related discipline.
• 6–8 years of related compliance experience across markets.
• Knowledge of Virginia DOT and federal transportation policies.
• Travel to project sites and offices; overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of construction operations to ensure environmental permit compliance and regulations.
• Field investigations and environmental data collection/analysis.
• Agency and client coordination; document preparation per laws.
• Permitting and mitigation activities; erosion and sediment control inspections.
• Manage multiple projects and environmental teams across ATCS geographies.
