Job summary

Golden State Water Company in California is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to supervise and direct the environmental compliance programs, including NPDES, CEQA, air quality, and hazardous materials regulations.

The role involves supervising the Environmental Specialist, monitoring federal and state regulations, preparing technical reports, coordinating audits, and guiding regions to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Five years environmental engineering, regulations and operations experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Ten years progressive environmental experience can substitute for a degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid California Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct the Company’s environmental compliance programs (NPDES, CEQA, air quality, hazardous materials).
• Supervise, develop, and manage the Environmental Specialist.
• Monitor federal, state and local environmental regulations; assist Regions and Districts in compliance.
• Prepare technical documents, reports and studies for Regions and Districts.
• Develop and supervise training and communications on environmental health risks for employees.
• Oversee environmental audits and prepare environmental assessments of Company property.
