Job summary

California Water Service Group is hiring an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Program Manager to oversee regulatory compliance across air quality, waste, hazardous materials, and water discharges. The role collaborates with Engineering and Operations on capital projects and represents the company in regulatory interactions.

The position reports to the Director of Environment, Health & Safety and can be located in San Jose, Menlo Park, or Salinas, CA. 20% travel to remote sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety, Geology, Natural Science or related field.
• Three years of experience in environment, health and safety.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance with applicable EHS regulations and controls.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports (CEQA, wastewater discharge, air emission, storm water, hazMat plans).
• Lead NPDES and air quality permit processes for stationary and portable equipment.
• Act as EHS lead for new acquisitions and perform due diligence assessments.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on capital projects to integrate EHS.
• Liaise with local, state, and federal agencies during inspections and permitting.
• Provide EHS guidance to operations, engineering, and water quality teams.
• Develop and deliver EHS training and respond to emergencies (spills/system upsets).
• Oversee soil and water remediation projects and support continuous improvement initiatives.
