Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking an Environmental Compliance Field Inspector to oversee environmental construction compliance on the Hudson Tunnel Project. The role involves field audits, technical reporting, and coordination with NY, NJ, and NYC agencies to ensure adherence to environmental requirements and permits.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in environmental science or geology and 8+ years of field inspection experience, with strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, or a closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience performing construction site inspections.
• Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Prior experience providing environmental inspections for NY, NJ and/or NYC agencies (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Perform field audits of environmental documentation and on‑site activities.
• Review and prepare written technical reports documenting environmental construction compliance.
• Report inconsistencies, permitting requirements, and contract specifications to the compliance team.
• Provide oversight of construction as it relates to environmental compliance.
• Interpret scientific data and specifications to support decision making.
• Support business development through bid support, client liaison, and upskilling of colleagues.
• Contribute technical expertise and promote innovation in sustainability areas such as waste, energy/carbon, water, responsible sourcing of materials, and sustainable buildings.
• Represent the company and client in public forums and internal/external events.
