Job summary

Platinum Global Talent Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector for the Hudson Tunnel Project in the New Jersey area.

The role focuses on field inspections, QA documentation, and coordination with engineers, contractors, and management to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and regulatory requirements. You will review testing and inspection records, monitor contractor performance, and support safety and environmental standards while working on a landmark infrastructure program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in inspection, QA, or construction management on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience with federally funded projects and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and standards.
• Monitor contractor performance and report any deviations or non-conformances.
• Review daily inspection reports, safety and quality checklists, and verify their accuracy and completeness.
• Support the implementation of the project's Quality Management Plan and related procedures.
• Review and maintain systematic records of all testing, inspection, acceptance activities, and outstanding punch list items.
• Document nonconforming work, verify completion of corrective actions, and monitor resolution of quality issues.
• Coordinate and monitor materials testing required under project contracts, including off-site lab testing performed by independent testing organizations.
• Ensure all materials used in construction meet specified standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit inspection reports, including daily, monthly, and quarterly summaries as required.
• Communicate findings, issues, and recommendations to resident engineers, contractors, and project management.
• Participate in meetings and technical briefings related to inspection and quality assurance.
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with safety management plans, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Support the implementation of environmental control processes and hazardous materials tracking.
• Collaborate with resident engineers, contractors, quality control managers, safety managers, and other project team members to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
• Assist with the review of construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and change orders as needed.
