Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Compliance Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support air permitting, stormwater, SPCC, and other environmental compliance services. The role involves technically rigorous data interpretation, regulatory analysis, and client-facing project work across multiple sites including Raleigh, Charlotte, and Atlanta.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in environmental planning, permitting, and compliance audits, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or chemical engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in environmental compliance.
• Advanced writing skills and proficiency in mathematics and problem-solving.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-media environmental compliance support (air permitting, stormwater, SPCC, waste management, air emission control evaluations).
• Conduct regulatory interpretation and apply engineering calculations.
• Prepare permit applications and compliance plans (SWPPP, SPCC).
• Support project management and client relationships.
• Perform audits and support site assessment/remediation as needed.
