Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science; chemical engineering preferred, advanced degree desirable.
- 5–7 years of environmental regulatory compliance knowledge across air, water, waste, and California-specific permits.
- Experience with Title V air permit concepts and Bay Area Air Quality Management District rules.
- Experience with CEMS and regulatory reporting systems.
- Willingness to train facility personnel on compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve environmental programs across media to meet regs, permits, and internal standards for CA facilities.
- Develop and maintain compliance tools, monitoring, sampling and testing programs.
- Direct and train facility personnel on compliance requirements and tools.
- Prepare waste profiles and manage disposal vendor approvals.
- Submit environmental compliance reports to agencies; negotiate permits as needed.
- Assist with regulatory assessments of projects to secure approvals and prepare documentation.
- Monitor regulatory developments and adapt plant operations accordingly.
- Improve compliance tools and cross-functional coordination for efficiency.
- Engage in audits and regulatory meetings to ensure compliance.
