Job summary

Department of Ecology seeks a Cleanup Site Manager (Environmental Engineer 5) to lead a portfolio of complex cleanup projects in the Northwest region, from investigation through remediation. The role combines technical depth with strategic leadership and requires strong collaboration with engineers, geologists, scientists, and legal staff.

You will manage scope, schedules, and costs, oversee MTCA/SMS/SCUM compliance, and ensure regulatory milestones are met while coordinating with stakeholders

Qualifications

• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of Washington or an equivalent license.
• Five years of experience in environmental engineering with demonstrated oversight and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the principal engineer and project manager for complex cleanup sites through investigation, design, and remediation.
• Provide engineering oversight to ensure compliance with MTCA, SMS, SCUM and other regulations.
• Lead Key Site Meetings with Liable Parties to advance cleanup projects.
• Conduct annual field visits to oversee investigations, sampling, and remediation; travel required.
