Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and install high-quality software solutions. You will work within Agile or Waterfall teams, collaborating with PMs, architects, and business stakeholders through requirements, design, development, testing, and production support.

Responsibilities include building and supporting enterprise applications, diagnosing production incidents, and creating technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
• 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
• Experience with enterprise application development and support.
• Experience with one or more enterprise application suites and integration points.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Technology Project Managers, Architects, Business Stakeholders and participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
• Develop and support integrations, upgrades, and administration of one or more enterprise application suites. Diagnose complex production incidents, determine root causes, and implement sustainable corrective solution within SLAs.
• Produce and maintain appropriate technical documentation, including application architecture, interfaces, dependencies, support procedures, and solution designs.
• Support Business Analysts and business stakeholders with the creation and execution of System Test cases
• Build trusting relationships and work collaboratively across IT and Business teams, system integrators, vendors, and job families to accomplish complex goals.
