Job description

Job Summary: Global Partners is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Program Manager to join our Enterprise Project Management Office at our headquarters location. The Senior Program Manager is an individual contributor who leads enterprise programs: groups of related projects and workstreams that must operate as one aligned effort to deliver a business outcome. The Senior Program Manager is accountable for integration, outcomes, and value across workstreams, and for giving executives the clarity they need to make timely decisions. Many programs support Global Partners’ growth, including acquisition integration and enterprise-wide process and system change. The successful candidate is an emotionally intelligent, business-oriented leader with outstanding judgment, who is credible with executives and fluent in both business priorities and technical detail, and who will fit with our collaborative, team-oriented culture.

At Global Partners, business starts with people. Since 1933, we’ve believed in taking care of our customers, our guests, our communities, and each other- and that belief continues to guide us. The Global Spirit is how we work to fuel that long term commitment to success. As a Fortune 500 company with 90+ years of experience, we’re proud to fuel communities- responsibly and sustainably. We show up every day with grit, passion, and purpose-anticipating needs, building lasting relationships, and creating shared value.

Program Ownership & Outcomes

Owns end-to-end delivery of one or more complex programs, serving as the primary point of accountability for program outcomes, execution health, and risk. Translates approved business objectives into clear program scope, success measures, roadmaps, and executable plans across multiple workstreams. Drives the program through initiation, planning, execution, implementation, stabilization, and handoff to operations, including confirmation that intended business value is realized.

Integrated Planning & Execution

Develops and actively manages integrated program plans, including dependencies, sequencing, and critical path across projects, teams, and vendors. Continuously assesses program health, identifies trade-offs, and adjusts direction to maintain momentum. Synthesizes inputs across workstreams into a single program-level view of progress, risks, and decisions required.

Governance & Operating Rhythm

Defines and leads the program governance model, including working teams, steering committees, and decision forums, scaled to the size, risk, and complexity of the program. Ensures program meetings drive decisions, accountability, and follow-through, and maintains plans, RAID logs, weekly status, and decision logs to EPMO standards.

Financial & Vendor Management

Owns program budget planning, forecasting, tracking, and variance reporting, aligned to approved funding. Manages external vendors and implementation partners, holding them accountable for deliverables, timelines, quality, and contractual obligations.

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

Identifies and manages program-level risks, issues, and cross-workstream dependencies early; drives resolution with clear ownership and recommendations; escalates through defined paths when executive attention is needed.

Stakeholder, Executive & Change Leadership

Partners with executives, business owners, and technology leaders to align priorities, timelines, and outcomes; translates technical complexity into clear business implications. Delivers executive-ready dashboards, status updates, and decision requests that clearly communicate program health, risks, and key decisions. Partners with business leaders on change management, communication, training, and adoption plans so users are ready for new processes, systems, and ways of working.

Hands-On Program Leadership & Influence

Champions and drives program work directly, taking hands-on ownership of key activities and deliverables while coordinating and influencing Project Managers, workstream leads, coordinators, and other contributors when assigned. Models strong delivery discipline, informally mentors project managers and other contributors as applicable, and contributes feedback to improve EPMO templates, standards, and tools. Supplies program status, milestones, financial forecasts, and resource needs that feed the EPMO portfolio view; leads post-implementation reviews and shares lessons learned.

Additional Job Description

10 years of project and program management experience leading complex business and/or IT initiatives, including 5+ years leading multi-project, multi-workstream programs. Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) required. PMP certification required. Prosci or ACMP change management; Agile/Scrum certification preferred. Expert-level program management with a proven record of delivering results through complex, cross-functional initiatives. Strong business and financial acumen; connects program execution to strategic and financial outcomes. Fluent in both technical detail and business needs; serves as the bridge between delivery teams and business leadership. Exceptional critical thinking; breaks down complex problems, finds root causes, and develops practical solutions. Outstanding influencing, negotiation, and communication skills at all levels, including senior and executive leaders. Operates effectively in ambiguity and fast-changing priorities; resilient, accountable, and open to feedback. Experience with program governance, change management, and vendor management. Proficiency with project and portfolio management tools (such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or Planview) and Microsoft 365. Experience in Retail, Hospitality, Oil/Gas, or acquisition-integration environments is a plus.
