Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an Organizational Development Consultant – Performance Management to set and drive enterprise strategy, governance, and effectiveness for performance management across the organization. The role partners with HRBPs and Leadership to embed data-driven practices in how leaders manage and develop teams.

The role requires 5–7 years in organizational development and performance management, with expertise in governance, calibration, analytics, and executive-level communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5–7 years of directly related experience in organizational development and performance management.
  • Advanced expertise in performance management strategy, governance, and execution.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise-wide programs, including driving adoption and accountability.
  • Strong experience with calibration processes, performance data, reporting, and analytics.
  • Proven ability to increase compliance and completion of enterprise processes through influence and structure.
  • Experience partnering effectively with HRBPs and senior leaders in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Strong consulting, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Executive-level communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution.

Responsibilities

  • Set and drive enterprise performance management strategy, governance, and effectiveness, including clear standards for goal setting, evaluation, and development.
  • Design and lead enterprise calibration processes to ensure rigor, fairness, and consistency in performance ratings.
  • Drive enterprise accountability for performance review completion, set targets, monitor progress, and elevate risks.
  • Own performance data strategy, dashboards, and reporting, providing actionable insights to HRBPs and senior leaders.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to reinforce expectations and provide tools, insights, and guidance for adoption and alignment.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development and Organizational Effectiveness to strengthen leader capability in goal setting, feedback, coaching, and evaluation.
  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of performance management systems and processes.
