Job summary
Cal Poly is seeking a Network and Communications Analyst to design, implement, and maintain campus networking equipment and services, including SDN and security appliances. You will support data networks, collaborate across teams, and administer network infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments.
The role requires on‑campus presence and strong experience with routing protocols, automation, and network management tools.
Qualifications
- On campus and physically present to perform role.
- Experience supporting enterprise level network infrastructure and services (DNS, Firewalls, LOAD BALANCERS, Wi‑Fi, VoIP).
- Strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP and EIGRP routing protocols.
- Experience configuring network infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments (AWS, VMware).
- Automation experience with Python/Powershell.
- Familiarity with network configuration management and monitoring tools (Cisco Prime, ALE OmniVista, Puppet, Jenkins, Solarwinds).
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise networking equipment including SDN and related services.
- Administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and document network issues across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deploy updates and fixes.
- Implement, manage, and support security software, hardware, and network appliances.
