Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago seeks a Senior IT Network Engineer to design, implement, and support the hospital’s enterprise network infrastructure.

You will manage routers, switches, and related tech across campus and internet connections, mentoring junior staff and collaborating with IM Application and Infrastructure Teams. You will lead complex network projects, maintain standards, and ensure security considerations align with policies.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Network Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Deep knowledge of network hardware and infrastructure; experience with application transport, infrastructure devices, and monitoring tools.
• Extensive knowledge of networking protocols (OSPF, BGP, 802.1x, 802.11, DHCP, DNS).
• Master level experience with TCP/IP and LAN/WAN/Wireless networks; 3–5 years with Juniper/Cisco in large enterprise env.
• Certification in Juniper, Cisco, or related technologies highly desired.
• Strong project management skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Programming or scripting skills to assist in network administration tasks are highly desired.

Aufgaben

• Develops and manages complex projects related to network infrastructure and related technologies.
• Mentors and develops the network technology skills of junior staff.
• Establishes and maintains network infrastructure roadmaps and technology standards.
• Implements and maintains Juniper/Cisco and other vendor technologies; maintains wired and wireless network equipment.
• Performs network troubleshooting and analysis using sniffers and inspection tools.
• Collaborates with Information Security and Compliance teams on policy and design for network security.
• Develops and documents procedures for enterprise-wide network infrastructure.
• Assumes on-call responsibility per schedule and supports service desk tickets.
• Liaises with vendors for equipment and software maintenance.
