Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an experienced Staff Network Engineer to design, support, and modernize a global enterprise network. You will influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and own hardware lifecycle programs across wireless, NAC, routing, switching, firewalls, and SD-WAN.

You will lead cross-site initiatives, drive governance and operational excellence, and collaborate with procurement and field resources to ensure seamless deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience across wireless, routing, switching and firewall technologies.
• Hands-on work with cloud-managed wireless, NAC, next-gen firewalls and SD-WAN in production environments.
• Ability to design robust solutions and mentor others on technical approaches.
• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site networks and strong security fundamentals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; governance and change-management exposure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority in enterprise networking; contribute to architecture decisions.
• Design and implement network components and ensure integration with existing architecture.
• Develop cross-system solutions balancing scale, performance, and maintainability.
• Lead governance standards and engineering-excellence practices across projects.
• Provide advanced engineering support across wireless, NAC, routing, switching, firewalls and SD-WAN.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex incidents.
• Develop and execute validated test plans for network changes.
• Own lifecycle programs for network hardware and coordinate upgrades and decommissioning.
