Job summary
Blue Origin’s Enterprise Technology group is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to shape and evolve our enterprise network architecture across office, manufacturing, lab, and launch facilities. You’ll lead design decisions, set standards, and mentor engineers to deliver secure, reliable connectivity at scale.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of enterprise networking experience in complex production environments.
- 7+ years providing technical leadership, architecture direction, design ownership, or mentorship in enterprise network environments.
- Hands-on experience designing, troubleshooting, validating, or operating enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud, or network security infrastructure.
- Experience with cloud networking, network virtualization, segmentation, or large-scale enterprise network architecture.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, communication, and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable, secure, reliable, and supportable network architecture decisions.
- Ability to influence technical direction across teams without relying on direct reporting authority.
- Passion for Blue Origin’s mission and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Shape and drive enterprise network architecture strategy, standards, and technical roadmaps.
- Lead the design, review, implementation guidance, and operational readiness of enterprise network infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, security, and supportability of network services across sites.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineers by guiding designs and reviews.
- Drive automation, validation, and repeatable engineering practices to improve consistency and scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated and secure network solutions.
- Partner with vendors and stakeholders to evaluate solutions and resolve complex issues.
- Contribute to lifecycle planning, investments, and roadmaps for a reliable network.
- Stay current with networking technologies to identify practical improvements.
- Support complex incident response and major network initiatives requiring senior expertise.
