Job summary

Garan Incorporated in Starkville, Mississippi, seeks a Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the enterprise network and virtualization across domestic and international locations.

You will lead and mentor IT staff, ensure uptime, security, and performance of LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN/VPN, VMware, and Azure, while coordinating disaster recovery and strategic infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive enterprise networking experience.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, NSE, PCNSE, Network+, or Security+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD‑WAN, VPN, and virtual network environments.
• Administer and support VMware environments including ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion, and virtual switching.
• Manage Azure infrastructure including VNets, subnets, NSGs, VPN/ExpressRoute connectivity, Azure VMs, storage, and monitoring tools.
• Maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and related network hardware; upgrade IOS and firmware as required.
• Implement and maintain firewall policies, network segmentation, IPS/IDS, and secure remote-access solutions.
• Monitor network and system performance using enterprise monitoring tools and perform proactive capacity planning.
• Support HP enterprise storage systems integrated with VMware infrastructures.
• Perform data backups, disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation including network diagrams, standards, operating procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Provide Tier III escalation support and mentor junior IT staff.
• Coordinate with vendors for procurement, support escalations, lifecycle management, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotation as required.
