Job summary

Doña Ana County in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the county's enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, VOIP, and security systems. You will lead architecture planning, oversee deployments, and ensure reliability and security across projects.

Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support long-term infrastructure strategy, perform capacity planning, disaster recovery testing, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Four (4) years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure or network management.
• Cisco CCNA certification required; CCNP/PCNSA/PCNSE and related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead network architecture and capacity planning for enterprise LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, VOIP, and related systems.
• Oversee deployment of enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewall, and security appliances.
• Monitor performance, ensure high availability, and conduct security audits with management coordination.
• Coordinate planned changes and maintain configuration documentation and audit records.
