Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking an experienced investigator to lead sensitive internal investigations across the enterprise, from intake through resolution, with a focus on compliance and ethics. You will mentor non-attorney investigators, coordinate with e-discovery teams, and report findings to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a Juris Doctor, with 5+ years in complex investigations within corporate settings, and strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory laws.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience conducting complex internal investigations.
• Experience in corporate or publicly traded environments.
• Strong knowledge of laws governing healthcare/regulatory matters.
• Excellent interviewing, analytical and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead investigations from intake through resolution, including strategy, interviews, document review, and stakeholder debriefs.
• Mentor non-attorney investigators on legal standards, documentation and case handling.
• Ensure timely, thorough investigations of compliance and ethics inquiries and alleged misconduct.
• Collaborate with e-discovery/forensic teams to identify and preserve relevant documents.
• Draft clear reports and communicate findings to legal and business leaders.
• Collaborate with HR on employment-related outcomes and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct root cause analyses and assess remedial actions; determine disclosure needs to agencies.
• Promote policy adoption and training based on investigation findings.
