Job summary

GAINSCO is actively seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to define and govern our enterprise-wide data and analytics architecture strategy. You will establish the long-term vision, standards, reference models, and architectural patterns guiding data ingestion, storage, modeling, governance, and delivery across the organization.

You will partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, Security, and Governance teams to design scalable, secure, and reusable data solutions, mentor engineers, and present

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years as a data engineer and 10+ years in enterprise data architecture.
• 5+ years with Snowflake, ADF, Synapse, and SQL Server.
• 5+ years of streaming/event-driven data tech (Kafka, Snowpipe, etc.).
• 5+ years of Power BI/Tableau and enterprise reporting architecture.
• Strong governance, security, and cost-efficient cloud data platform design.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, ITIL, and Git in data environments.
• Ability to communicate standards and trade-offs to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern the enterprise data architecture vision, principles, roadmaps, reference models, and design standards.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms using cloud technologies.
• Establish patterns for batch, streaming, real-time data pipelines for analytics and operations.
• Lead data modeling strategies to improve consistency, performance, and reuse.
• Set governance standards for metadata, lineage, data quality, security, and access controls.
• Provide design reviews and guidance to Data Engineering and governance teams.
• Communicate architecture direction to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior architects and engineers to strengthen architecture practices.
