Job summary

SpaceXSI is seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to lead high-value enterprise agreements for AI products and services. You will work with Sales, Business Development, Finance and Product teams to negotiate contracts, mitigate risk, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, in-office environment.

This on-site role is based in Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Austin, or New York, requiring 5 days/week in the office to support SpaceXSI's mission of advancing AI-driven scientific discovery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience, ideally mix of top-tier law firm and in-house technology company.
• Extensive transaction negotiation experience with IP/technology transactions.
• Ability to balance risks with a practical commercial approach.
• Creative solutioning mindset with sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
• Genuine curiosity and passion for AI applications.
• Strong ownership and ability to drive results.
• Eligible to practice law in CA or NY, or in-house counsel eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex technology agreements.
• Collaborate with sales, product, finance and legal teams on commercial strategies.
• Design commercial structures to enable selling AI products while mitigating risk.
• Be adaptable to handle diverse legal tasks within a fast-paced environment.
• Act as an ambassador for legal AI initiatives and drive efficiency.
