Qualifications

• Five (5) years of relevant medical office experience including auth/pre-cert.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT & ICD-9 coding.
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and secure pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures, testing and medications.
• Facilitate communication between referring providers, insurers and clinical departments.
• Triage calls, schedule outpatient appointments and document in the EMR.
• Serve as primary liaison to internal departments and resolve complex authorization issues.
• Support other authorization specialists and ensure efficient workflow.
