Job summary

Best Buy seeks a Principal Architect to shape technology direction across products, platforms, and teams. You will create architecture plans, guide technical choices, and mentor other leaders to build secure, reliable solutions that support our business and customer experiences.

This hybrid role requires some days at the Richfield, Minnesota office with flexible remote options; candidates outside metro areas may qualify for remote work.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in software engineering, technology architecture, infrastructure, data architecture, or a related field.
• 4 years experience creating architecture strategies, standards, and roadmaps for complex technology environments.
• 4 years experience influencing technical decisions across multiple teams and groups.

Responsibilities

• Create technology strategies, architecture plans, and roadmaps across products, platforms, and business areas.
• Set architecture standards, patterns, and guidelines to help teams make consistent technical decisions.
• Review solutions, provide technical guidance, and help teams meet enterprise architecture goals.
• Partner with engineering, product, and business leaders on technology choices, priorities, and investments.
• Guide platform modernization efforts, reduce technical debt, and improve reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor architects and senior engineers while sharing knowledge across the technology community.
