Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is seeking an Architect III to lead enterprise architecture initiatives across a defined domain. You will shape architecture standards, collaborate with business, product, and IT teams, and ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and scalable.

Located in a nationwide organization, this role emphasizes governance, strategic influence, and driving architectural runway for future products and services. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience preferably with enterprise architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Advanced experience in architecture with reference architectures & patterns and governance functions for: Application Development, Cloud Compute, Storage and Networking technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Serverless, Containers, Automation, Security).
• Advanced understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile and DevOps teams.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
• May require up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead architectural priorities that advance the business and technology strategy.
• Participate in ASB and TRB governance forums and manage business capability inventory.
• Develop standards and patterns for the domain and drive adoption through ASB.
• Design and document solution architecture for applications and capabilities within the domain.
• Collaborate with business, product, and IT teams to ensure secure, compliant, reliable designs.
• Review solution architecture in TRB and ensure alignment with standards and patterns.
• Advocate architecture principles and act as trusted strategic partner to delivery leaders.
