Job summary

Western Alliance Bank, a subsidiary of Western Alliance Bancorporation, seeks an Architect III to define and lead architectural priorities, governance, and patterns within a domain. You will work with business, product, and IT to ensure secure, compliant, and reliable designs while aligning with approved standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration with ASB/TRB governance forums, roadmapping for specialties deposits platforms, and evangelizing architecture across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience preferably with enterprise architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Advanced experience working in an architecture function with knowledge & experience developing reference architectures & patterns and supporting governance functions related to: Application Development, Cloud Compute, Storage and Networking technologies. IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Serverless, Containers, Automation, Security.
• Advanced understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile and DevOps teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
• May require up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Act as advocate & evangelist of architecture principles, standards, and patterns across the organization.
• Identify, propose, & lead opportunities to advance capabilities for the domain using new tech and reuse of existing products.
• Develop a point of view to articulate options and recommendations to Architecture peers.
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to ensure robust architectural runway for future requirements.
• Monitor current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies from aging technologies.
