Job summary

Unissant, Inc. is seeking a Principal Architect to join our government program and drive the reference architecture across cloud, security, data, analytics, and AI-enabled services.

You will collaborate with client stakeholders, program leadership, and delivery teams to ensure scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions aligned with mission needs. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on technology leader with experience as a Principal/Enterprise Architect on large federal IT services

Qualifications

• Experience as Principal/Enterprise Architect on federal IT programs.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, security, IAM, API design, and data platforms.
• Strong governance, cross-team collaboration, and technical decision-making abilities.
• Ability to operate in remote, multi-stakeholder environments and communicate with executives.

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and evolve the program's reference architecture, ensuring alignment across cloud, security, data platforms, analytics, AI-enabled services, integrations, and APIs.
• Establish, document, communicate, and govern cross-team standards, patterns, and engineering practices.
• Lead architecture governance processes, including architecture review boards and design reviews.
• Define interoperability patterns for data exchange, APIs, event-driven solutions, and platform extensibility.
• Conduct major trade-off analyses to inform architecture, security, and delivery decisions.
• Partner with client stakeholders to ensure performance, security, and mission alignment.
• Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, roadmaps, and diagrams for delivery teams and auditors.
• Provide technical leadership for cross-team architecture issues and dependencies.
