Job summary

Unissant seeks a Principal AI Architect and Enterprise AI Transformation Lead to drive AI strategy and architecture for a federal client in Ashburn, VA. The role requires hands-on technical leadership, prototyping, and guiding secure deployment across hybrid environments.

The candidate will shape solution architectures, demonstrate AI capabilities, and advise executives on AI adoption, value, and risk, leveraging Generative AI, LLMs, and vector databases.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering or enterprise technology leadership.
• 8+ years delivering AI/ML/analytics solutions, including hands-on deployment.
• Hands-on coding, prototyping, and secure production AI deployment experience.
• Experience applying commercial AI practices in federal or mission-critical environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise AI strategy, architecture, adoption and roadmaps across programs and teams.
• Identify high-value AI opportunities to improve mission performance and efficiency.
• Design, build, test and demonstrate AI/ML prototypes with a path to production.
• Develop secure, scalable AI apps using Python, APIs, and cloud-native services.
• Oversee MLOps/GenAIOps, monitoring, governance, and lifecycle management.
