Job summary

SMX is seeking a Solution Architect to document designs and architectures for secure cloud environments, guiding development teams through the SDLC, and ensuring open architecture with modularity. The role emphasizes collaboration across technical teams and delivering high-quality design documentation.

The ideal candidate holds a TS clearance, AWS certification, and deep cloud experience, including hybrid multi-cloud patterns and data migrations to the cloud, complemented by strong communication

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience in a solution architect or related role.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• AWS certification.
• Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Deep familiarity with cloud architecture, including hybrid multi-cloud target architectures and operating models.
• Experience with data migration from on-premises to cloud environments.
• Experience with AI code conversion and an understanding of GenAI-related code quality tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to interface with customers.
• A self-starter who is detail-oriented, can work with minimal supervision, and consistently produces quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to document high-quality technological solutions and architecture models.
• Document system designs that feature open architecture, incorporating modularity to consolidate sub-systems into secure cloud environments.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to support development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Write comprehensive design, sizing, and operational documentation.
• Analyze existing project scopes and processes to recommend and implement improvements.
• Leverage DevSecOps principles and stay current with new technologies and third-party applications to solve complex problems.
