Position Summary

University Information Services (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications supporting CU’s four campuses and the Office of the President, focusing on customer service, technical expertise, and enterprise support for students, faculty, and staff.

The Senior Enterprise App Admin supports PeopleSoft applications and systems across all campuses, supporting over 65,000 students and 35,000 faculty/staff. Responsibilities include day-to-day PeopleSoft administration, project participation, and support for system rollouts. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining PeopleSoft environments for HCM, Financials, Grants, Portal, and Campus Solutions, and supporting operational issues with internal and external customers.

This senior position also involves supporting DevOps tools, automation, and security processes. It reports to the Enterprise Application Admin Manager and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.

Where You Will Work

This role is eligible for remote work within the U.S., with a preference for Colorado residents or those willing to relocate.

Description of Job

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Administer PeopleSoft system architecture for production, development, and test environments.
  2. Install, upgrade, patch, and fix PeopleSoft applications and middleware such as Oracle WebLogic, Tuxedo, JDK, and Oracle database clients.
  3. Participate in performance testing and analyze results to resolve issues.
  4. Configure, manage, and fix PeopleSoft Integration Broker Architecture.
  5. Performance tune application servers and related components.
  6. Install, upgrade, patch, and fix PeopleSoft Search Framework components.
  7. Deploy PUM images, create change packages, and apply using Change Assistant.
  8. Support Windows terminal servers, including installation and troubleshooting.
  9. Stay updated on PeopleSoft features and explore automation opportunities.
  10. Support production and non-production environments, resolving issues and maintaining system health.
  11. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DBA teams on performance and issues.
  12. Maintain comprehensive MediaWiki documentation for tasks.
  13. Ensure confidentiality of organizational information.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support PMO projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Participate in quality assurance efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years working with PeopleSoft applications, including administration, installation, configuration, deployment, and performance tuning on Unix/Linux platforms.
  • 2 years automating processes with Linux shell scripting.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including on-call rotations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with PeopleSoft applications.
  • Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Git, Phire, and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or Enterprise Portal administration.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of PeopleSoft architecture and middleware.
  • Proficiency with Oracle DPK, WebLogic, Tuxedo, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with OpenSearch and related tools.
  • Automation skills with Python, Shell scripting, Puppet, etc.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently or in teams.
