Job summary

Impellam Group seeks an Engineering Technologist III to provide technical expertise and leadership with limited supervision within a defined area of expertise.

You will support major distribution projects from substation to customer, coordinate with engineering firms, customers and contractors, participate in field visits and meetings, prepare reports and calculations, and contribute to storm response and related studies.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology or 6 years of equivalent experience without a degree.
• Direct experience in electric distribution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse backgrounds.
• Technical expertise to solve complex problems.
• Leadership to provide oversight and direction of work.
• Ability to work with greater independence.
• Nice-to-have knowledge of project management principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for major projects within the Triad Zone, including distribution system upgrades from the substation to the customer.
• Coordinate with engineering firms, customers, contractors, and management.
• Participate in field visits and customer meetings.
• Support storm response efforts locally or in other designated locations as required.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing and resolving problems in area of expertise.
• Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
• Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.
• Conduct engineering and related studies.
