Job summary

Bartech Staffing is seeking an experienced electrical distribution design professional for an onsite role in Monroe, LA. You will meet with customers to determine service needs and design overhead and underground extensions to support residential and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (will also accept a Technical Diploma).
• 4-7+ years of experience in utility design and field practices.
• Strong expertise in utility design and field practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial businesses, including meeting with customers to determine service needs and design of overhead and underground line extensions.
• Coordinate and lead pre-design and pre-construction meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations to aid in planning and corrective measure projects (load studies, fault current, voltage drop, etc.).
• Provide leadership and technical support to local operations and contract compliance with regards to distribution design standards and practices.
• Aid local Right of Way agent with acquiring permits and ROW documents.

Job description

Responsible for meeting with customers to determine electric needs and requirements. Design jobs to install, replace, or remove distribution facilities to support customer requests, reliability projects, or infrastructure improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Primary responsibility will be to manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial businesses. Includes meeting with customers to determine their service needs, design of overhead and underground line extensions, estimating costs, preparing construction drawings and coordinate construction commits.
• Coordinate and lead pre-design and pre-construction meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations to aid in planning and corrective measure projects (i.e., load studies, revenue justification, fault current, voltage drop, etc.).
• Provide leadership and technical support to local operations and contract compliance with regards to distribution design standards and practices to provide seamless service to customers and external constituents.
• Aid local Right of Way agent with acquiring permits and ROW documents.

Requirements - education & experience

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (will also accept a Technical Diploma)
• 4-7+ years of experience
• Strong expertise in utility design and field practices
