Job summary

Fairfax County Government's Department of Public Works and Environmental Services is seeking a Project Manager to lead construction and maintenance projects for stormwater facilities. You will plan, schedule, budget, and coordinate design consultants and contractors to deliver capital improvements and renewals.

The role emphasizes ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across multiple sites, with contract administration from award to warranty, plus strong communication with public stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree and four years of progressively responsible experience in construction or maintenance project supervision.
• At least two years of experience in contract administration.
• Ability to coordinate design consultants and construction contractors.

Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, schedule, and budget capital construction/maintenance projects.
• Coordinate and manage work of consultants and contractors for stormwater facilities.
• Draft scopes of service and negotiate with staff to restore or reconstruct facilities.
• Provide quality control to ensure project goals and specifications are met.
• Maintain documentation and ensure clear communication with stakeholders.
• Participate in contract administration from inception through warranty period.
