Job summary

Fairfax County Government is seeking an Inspection Coordinator to provide advanced technical support to the Project Management and Contracts sections. This role manages the regulatory inspection process for county facilities, interpreting building codes and coordinating inspections with agencies, contractors, and staff.

You will maintain records in CMMS and other systems, review proposals and invoices, schedule inspections and re-inspections, and assist in ensuring compliance and safe operations

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification is high school diploma or GED plus four years of engineering technical support.
• Demonstrated knowledge of building codes and safety practices.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and communicate complex requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the inspection process for county facilities and coordinate with agencies, contractors, and staff.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and test results in CMMS and other systems.
• Review contractor proposals, cost estimates and invoices for inspection-related work.
• Schedule inspections, follow-up actions, and re-inspections as needed.
• Oversee corrective actions and ensure final resolution of work orders.
• Communicate findings and responsible actions clearly to stakeholders.
