Job summary

Propel is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager and Tech Lead for the Marketplace team in a hybrid capacity. You will define the technical direction, design systems, and lead 3–5 engineers across sub-teams to scale our platform that connects millions of users with offers from grocery, healthcare, telecoms, and more.

The role emphasizes empathetic leadership, hiring and developing a diverse engineering team, and strong collaboration with product, design, and data.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience designing and developing web or mobile applications, especially ad tech or consumer products.
2+ years of experience managing engineers in a startup, remote-first environment.
Strong AI skills with ability to think strategically about AI use in the marketplace.
Growth mindset, curiosity, and deep understanding of marketplace operations.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Passion for making a difference in users’ lives.

Responsibilities

Set technical vision for the marketplace team and build a system that serves helpful offers to users.
Manage and coach 3–5 reports across multiple sub-teams and help them advance.
Develop team-level processes to foster consistency and collaboration in a remote-first culture.
Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, design, and data.
Ensure smooth onboarding for new engineers and iterate on processes.
