Job summary
Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering to lead a high-performing team within the B2B technology organization. You will bridge technology and business, ensuring the team delivers impactful solutions that power our partners' success.
You will collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to shape a technology roadmap and drive capacity planning, staffing, and engineering excellence across multiple domains.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of software development experience (or 6+ years with a Master's).
- 3+ years of people management experience, including performance management.
- Strong communication bridging technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading distributed or multi-location teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 6-10 engineers, including ICs and managers.
- Partner with Product Management to influence the product roadmap.
- Define team goals aligned with business objectives across teams.
- Resolve bottlenecks in cross-team workflows and drive improvements.
- Advocate for engineering excellence, testing, SLA, resiliency, and scale.
- Evaluate tech choices and communicate decisions to stakeholders.
- Research frameworks and patterns, and promote best practices.
- Lead capacity planning and staffing, including hiring engineers.
