Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Network Engineering leader to drive a cross-functional network program. You will guide design reviews, oversee incident response, and mentor a high-performing team across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will partner with multiple teams to implement scalable network solutions, lead planning, and ensure reliable, secure connectivity while optimizing performance and cost.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience spanning on-premises and cloud networking.
• 3+ years in a people management or technical team leadership role.
• Proven expertise with long-term planning and roadmap execution for a network team.
• Proven expertise with SD-WAN technologies (Versa or similar platforms).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking across AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI.
• Experience with enterprise wired and wireless networking and data center fabrics.

• Lead daily stand-ups and sprint planning with your engineering team
• Review and approve architectural designs for new network solutions
• Partner with store technology, fulfillment operations, and cloud teams to design and deliver network solutions
• Own incident response for all network-impacting events
• Conduct 1:1 meetings with team members to provide coaching
• Collaborate with Cloud Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure teams
• Participate in the Change Advisory Board to review and approve production network changes
• Analyze network performance and cost data to optimize routing policies
• Contribute to network automation initiatives and design reviews
• Lead post-incident reviews with rigor
• Engage beyond the network boundary to support resolution of degraded services
• Participate in on-call rotation alongside your team

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience spanning both on-premises enterprise infrastructure and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• At least 3+ years in a people management or technical team leadership role
• Proven expertise in long-term planning and roadmap execution for the team
• Proven expertise with SD-WAN technologies, with hands-on experience deploying or operating Versa Networks or comparable platforms
• Strong understanding of cloud networking across AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or OCI
• Demonstrated experience with enterprise wired and wireless networking
• Hands-on experience with data center network fabrics
• Deep knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), WAN technologies, QoS policies, and network segmentation
• Demonstrated track record of owning incident response end-to-end in complex, distributed environments
• Familiarity with network automation and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Strong understanding of observability and monitoring practices using tools like New Relic, Datadog, Splunk
• Proven track record of building and developing high-performing engineering teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
