Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is looking for a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering, with a passion for engineering and the desire to lead an innovative, dedicated team responsible for industry‑leading Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) products within the Multi‑domain Assured Navigation & Timing Applications (MANTA) portfolio. The team is responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and testing systems for real‑time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military applications.
As an on‑site leader of this team, you will have the responsibility for leading and mentoring staff whose responsibilities span all phases of the software engineering life cycle. These responsibilities include requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, verification, and formal configuration management. This leader position will provide direction for tasks such as software capability development, integration of software onto target hardware, issue troubleshooting and resolution, supporting field demonstration and integration efforts, and mentoring.
The successful applicant should be knowledgeable of the software development lifecycle and a proponent of the Agile method of software development. In addition to technical activities, responsibilities also include resource allocation and overall administrative management of the team. This position demands an ability and willingness to perform day‑to‑day employee engagement, coaching and mentoring, and employee development. The role also requires employee performance excellence, including providing continuous feedback and performance correction, engagement check‑ins, and administering formal performance management processes. Responsibilities also include employee onboarding, training, and career development.
