Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer II for an onsite role in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will work on real-time embedded navigation and timing solutions with a focus on requirements analysis, design, code development, integration, verification, and documentation.

The team develops Assured PNT systems for military applications, with opportunities to learn advanced navigation products and contribute to mission-critical defense programs. DoD clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Dept. of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Software Engineer II with a passion for engineering and the desire to be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for industry-leading Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) products. Our team needs engineers interested in architecting, designing, and developing software for real-time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military ground, airborne, and maritime applications.

This position offers abundant opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of Assured PNT systems architecture, and to apply that knowledge in a team effort to develop our navigation products for the warfighter.

What You Will Do
  • As a part of this team, you will have responsibilities spanning all phases of the software engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, code development, integration, verification, and documentation.
  • Assignments may include tasks such as developing software tools, supporting field demonstration efforts, providing customer support, and mentoring other engineers.
  • The successful applicant should be knowledgeable and skilled with a variety of development and test tools as well as proficient in the development of embedded hardware/software applications.
Qualifications You Must Have

  • Experience with Python test scripting
  • Experience with the Agile methodology of development, aptitude or interest in a Scrum Master role
  • A working knowledge of Communication Systems, Message Handling, Digital Signal Processing, or Kalman Filter Theory

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
