Job summary

Codalinc in Chicago is seeking a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to lead backend development and technical delivery. You’ll manage a team of 4–5 engineers, ensuring robust and secure solutions while promoting high standards of performance.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in backend development, strong experience with Node.js and cloud platforms, along with mentoring capabilities to guide the team through complex challenges.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend or full-stack with backend heavy development.
• Active hands-on experience while leading a team of engineers.
• Proven ability to design and explain system architecture for complex web and cloud-based applications.
• Solid understanding of databases including SQL, NoSQL and analytics platforms like BigQuery.

Responsibilities

• Lead a squad of engineers through backend development complexities.
• Ensure performance through high-quality APIs and secure data modeling.
• Mentor engineers and establish high standards of code quality.
